make responsible choices, positive changes and have economic
self sufficiency.

There are
approximately 25 Soldiers (2 females) in the
Army Platoon we have been assigned. They are
deployed from Ft Hood, TX to Camp Taji, Iraq
until January 1, 2009. We need to send our final
packages no later than December 1, 2008. This
will insure that our last packages arrive before
they begin packing up to redeploy home. We
will be collecting items to send during the NTRP
Workshop on September 21, 2008.
They would appreciate whatever
you can send : healthy snacks, protein bars, beef jerky,
powdered drink mix singles to add to bottled water, feminine
hygiene products, hand sanitizer wipes, vitamins, foot care
products, medicated body/foot powders, sunscreen/lip balm
w/SPF, unscented moisturizing skin lotions, All Occasion
cards, stationery to mail home and support during the
holidays. For their down time they would appreciate board
games/card games, horseshoes, footballs, darts/dart boards,
AA AAA Batteries, CD s, and DVD s and Lots of Mail. You do
not have to send individual packages for each person in the
platoon as they all share whatever is sent to your (POC)
Point of contact and it is NOT necessary to send one of
every item for each person in your platoon. We suggest that
you purchase larger sizes whenever possible so that everyone
can have a taste. Sending zip-lock bags will help the POC in
sharing with everyone. The important thing is that each
soldier will know that they have not been forgotten and
that's what matters most.
