Welcome!

Ruthie Polk, 2009 NTRP
President
Dear North Texas
Relocation Professionals,
In early January 2009 the
Board of Directors and Chairpersons met to outline the
strategy for our organization in 2009. Unlike any year that we
have experienced recently, the Board recognized the need to
provide cost effective value added meetings in 2009. Due to
impact of the economy on our industry we decided to reduce the
membership dues from $65.00 to $50.00. We also decided to
forego the workshop and provide 5 meetings lasting from 2 to 4
hours generating 3 ERC credits each.
As an organization the
board was in agreement that our focus would be:
1) education - providing
cost effective value added meetings maximizing the opportunity
for the membership to earn CRP credits.
2) networking – providing
opportunities through meetings and social activities to allow
members to network with other members
3) benchmarking –
providing opportunities for corporate members to participate
in benchmarking activities following our general meetings
4) Resource of relocation
expertise – as a regional group of ERC we would like to expand
our membership with ERC members throughout our region.
I am thrilled with the
planning and thought put into our Programs for 2009 by Tina
Swenson, Kate Kelley-Dilts and Vicki Heitman. Taking on the
theme of “Navigating the Challenging Road of Employee
Mobility” they have outlined speakers to include industry
leaders, economists, and Al Blumenberg the 2009 Worldwide ERC
President.
In 2008, we ended up with
over 180 members representing all service lines and
corporations. We raised over $5,000 at the raffle during our
workshop in September. This money was donated to “Attitudes
and Attire” along with “Austin Center.” In December our
Outreach committee sent care boxes to our Platoon stationed in
Camp Taji, Iraq.
I encourage each of you to complete
the membership application and become a part of the North
Texas Relocation Professionals in 2009. You will be part of an
organization dedicated to providing a forum in which social and
professional interaction, education, and growth are achieved.
Your company may also want to
become part of our Star Sponsor Program where you will gain
elevated visibility at our meetings, in our membership
directory, in our newsletters, and on our website.
I look forward to seeing you at our
meetings in 2009.
Warm regards,
Ruthie Polk
